Really surprising news that, quiche days now, Sony Ericsson is doing relatively leaked to the ‘political Android’. After the announcement of the upgrade to X10 for Gingerbread , the next summer, the manufacturer has made it public several hours ago, his choice to make possible the
release of its new office of the bootloader Xperia smartphone, so as to give independent software developers the opportunity to do so safely and legally.
However, this, available in late spring, it will be possible only on certain phones and certain conditions. The phones ‘unlocked’ will lXperia Arc, the Xperia Neo, Pro and the Xperia PLAY. Not everybody, though. For example, if it will be SIM-locked.
The release will be through a web service that can generate an unlock key based on the IMEI number of your phone. But be careful, because, lets you know Sony-Ericsson, in some cases this may invalidate your manufacturer’s warranty.
However, it is still good news and a demonstration of good will. We’ll see if it will be rewarded by the market.
