Windows Mobile: Close the web version of the Marketplace

For some time we knew that Microsoft would stop accepting applications on the marketplace created for Windows Mobile, focusing solely on the new Windows phone. Now we know the new details about it: the Web version of the Windows Marketplace for mobile will be closed.

As of July 15, Windows Mobile users can purchase applications access only from your phone to the portal, on which the app will be published by that date. The backup feature MyPhone cease to exist as we know it: from the August 7 all your contacts, calendars, text messages and photos synchronized on Skydrive will pass the Microsoft cloud service. The videos, music, documents and bookmarks, however, must be saved by users because they are not transferred automatically.

With this decision goes a bit ‘to close an era at Microsoft.
