Google Maps 5.7 for Android, here is (almost) offline browsing

Yesterday, Google released version 5.7 of its program on all most popular mobile platforms, especially on Android. Google Maps 5.7 Navigation Transit implements the new feature that guides the user in the use and exchange of public transport in major cities.

Although this change has been well appreciated by the general public, is not the only one. In fact, back seat, there would be another tempting feature in the new Google Maps. This is a first, modest, offline browsing mode by downloading a portion of the map estimate of up to 10 miles (just under 17 km ). The functionality is within the Labs and requires a terminal equipped with the version of Android 2.1 or later.

Offline browsing promised by Google, therefore, has not been completely abandoned and the ability to download a portion of the map before a trip or in the absence of connection is very useful (eg via Wi-Fi at a hotel when we are ‘ abroad), hoping he may soon be implemented in order to download entire maps. To obtain the latest version of Google Maps for Android is just visit the page.
