Meego is officially dead

Now its official, with the chagrin of many who still believed in the project: Meego is dead; LiMo will become part of the project and from this moment will be called Tizen. The project will be carried out by Intel and Samsung that will create a new “operating system for smartphones, tablets, smart TV, netbooks and mobile terminals for the infotainment.”

Meego as we knew it no longer exists: the future now belongs to HTML5 and “beyond a relatively small percentage of applications,” all the investments will go in that direction. Tizen project will also “independent” who “closer the Linux Foundation, will be managed by the Technical Steering Group and developed openly with family and improved infrastructure.” These promises, but who claimed Meego is not happy: the project collapsed, becoming something else.

The participation of Samsung has nothing to do with Mind, which promises little influence in the project. Intel does not even know what it means Tizen: UnwiredView bloggers have asked to Intel insiders who do not know the meaning of the name: a clue of how much attention is invested in the project? Possible. The details are still few details and statements are expected.
