If you have no idea what to do for gifts this Christmas or do not know where it is cheaper to buy them… rely on your smartphone!
This is the message coming from the results of a study, conducted by Ipsos OTX in collaboration with Google, the use of smartphones in the U.S. and the buying behavior of mobile users. According to this study, the smartphone is changing the behavior of consumers while shopping. In fact, 79% of Americans polled users rely on your smartphone, using it as a “personal shopper”.
There is a more immediate way to find the closest store, read reviews, compare prices, organize your shopping in the stores using the GPS or directly purchase the product online. Mobile devices assume therefore an increasingly important role in consumer behavior. The survey carried out that the smartphone is an integral part of the process of multi-channel sales.
As regards Italy, the mobile industry is clearly growing and shows significant signs: in 2011, smartphone users are in fact share rose to 20 million, 52% more than the previous year (Nielsen, first quarter 2011) . Of these, 23% have already made purchases via mobile compared to 29% of the United States (www.ourmobileplanet.com). The potential is visible to all, but only 17% of large investors have launched advertising campaigns, dedicated to smartphones and tablets, integrating their online marketing strategies in the “mobile world”.
How to reach the consumer? Simple. 82% of smartphone users notice advertisements (banners, advertising graphics) during the daily use of the device. Of these, 49% buy the product directly from your smartphone, or computer store. Being present at each stage of the buying process is increasingly important, especially during the Christmas season, when consumers are more receptive to the mobile retailer offers an innovative way to get in touch with buyers, retaining and encouraging the sales.
