Symbian Carla being tested on a Nokia N8?

Symbian CarlaA few days ago we published the news that Symbian Belle would be the last update to Nokia for Symbian 3, this because of poor sales performance in recent times. But internal sources of Nokia Brazil confirm that the next version, ie Symbian Carla is already being tested on a Nokia N8.

But it is not yet known if this new version will be issued for products such as N8, since previous reports claimed that Carla would be developed as a feature for hardware that has at least 1GHz processor ((Nokia 603, 700 and 701). However, takes the form chance of being adapted to phones with 680MHz processors and 256 MB of RAM and then for models Nokia E7-00, Nokia N8 and Nokia C7-00, but with reduced functionality.

The feeling is that Carla will have the impact of the system fine, as it was Anna (the only update released) for Symbian 3, and then worry about performance should not be alarmed. As for the Women’s version will completely change everything, but it is not certain that will never see the light. It also seems that Symbian will be released very soon Carla developers to start developing applications for the right time and enable the porting of existing. This can only mean that the launch of the Nokia 808 PureView, the presumed successor to the Nokia N8, at MWC in Barcelona will bring to light the new operating system. The device would be equipped with Symbian and Carla is able to support video recording at 1080p.

What is certain is that the update will be made available and probably will happen by the end of 2012 or later than the first quarter of 2013.
