BlackBerry Bold 9900, OS 7.1 firmware update with WiFi calls for T-Mobile customers

BlackBerry Bold 9900T-Mobile has just released OS 7.1 for BlackBerry Bold 9900 enabling calls over WiFi, Mobile HotSpots, Commercial Mobile Alert System, and the BlackBerry Device Analyzer.

The new update that now comes to the BlackBerry OS to version 7.1 brings with it many new features, including the ability to make calls via a WiFi connection, with the characteristic that they do not automatically switch to the 3G network in case of connection loss.

Among the new features of BlackBerry OS 7.1 include:

WiFi calls: ability to make calls over WiFi. Calls will not automatically switch on 3G network in case of connection loss.

Mobile HotSpot / USB tethering: Ability to share the internet connection on the BlackBerry smartphone with up to five devices simultaneously.

Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS): An alert service in case of earthquakes or other emergencies.

BBM Music: The music streaming service that lets you download 50 audio tracks and the possibility to download 25 audio tracks per month.

Bing: Bing Implementation of the search engine for searching the web.

BlackBerry Device Analyzer: A service that allows the user to perform various hardware tests that can help in case of need for technical assistance.

The latest update to OS 7.1 for BlackBerry Bold 9900 can be downloaded on the official website of T-Mobile. Please note that updating the firmware with a version issued by a foreign operator could cause problems with the use Digi BlackBerry smartphone connected with the Italian operators.
