Nokia is planning to develop a system whereby we would be notified of new notifications on our smartphones via haptic systems. Without getting too specific, we can say that for the haptic perception refers to the recognition of objects based on touch. We talk about haptic technology when our smartphone reacts, for example vibrating, at the touch of our finger on the screen. Here, then, that this idea of the Finnish sounds at least curious to see what it is.
It seems that Nokia has filed a patent for the creation of a communication system that relies on sending signals that, starting from the smartphone, are sent to a particular object created specially. For each received message, or for each incoming call, for example, the phone may send a signal that is picked up by this object, which must of course remain attached to the body, which alerts us vibrating. The beauty is that you can also specify a certain type of vibration depending on the person who calls us, a bit like custom ringtones, or depending on whether you receive a call or SMS.
Nokia has even brought his imagination even further, proposing the creation of a special ink for tattoos to be fulfilling the functions of this external object. The procedure for implementing the tattoo would not change, the only addition would be the new “vibration function“.
What we can be useful for such a technology? If an object was removed, could possibly be useful when you are in a noisy environment so as to cover the phone’s ringer, which is perhaps in a jacket pocket and not be able to must capture the vibration. When you enter the discourse of tattoos, honestly, have a tattoo that vibrates for every SMS received what I believe is a greatly exaggerated, as those which are seen only in science fiction.
